Hello Ladies, I have been lurking for bit (I?m a regular over on the nest book club board) and thought it was time to introduce myself. First, I?d like to say I am so sorry that we all have to be here, however it?s comforting to have other women to talk to.
A little about me; I had a natural m/c at 6 weeks in early September. This would have been our first. I also have a chronic daily migraine problem, and I have had my most recent headache since September, 2008. So once we made the decision to start a family, I had to stop taking my preventative medication (many of which cause birth defects) in order to start trying. Unfortunately this just made my headache problem worse and made my loss so much harder for me.
Since our loss in September I have been in for another round of infusion therapy (a series of drugs given via IV over a three day period) in order to reduce my headache pain. As well as my neurologist started me on a new therapy which I was told I could take up until O and then to stop. If I became pregnant that cycle I would discontinue use. But if I did not, I could begin taking it again when AF arrived. So as a consequence I have begun charting. I have read most of TCOYF and I am starting to use OPK?s. But I am still new at all of this.
We are hoping to start trying again soon, as my OBGYN told me we could start trying again after 1 cycle. So it seems that we might possibly be able to try again come mid November.
Re: An Introduction (a little long...)
Welcome to the board! I am so sorry for your loss and for your headache issue. I know how bad migraines can be, and I can't imagine having to deal with them on a daily basis.
Are you using fertilityfriend for charting? They have some really great (free!) tutorials that help explain everything.
The ladies here are great, but I hope your stay is short and sweet. Good luck!
I am so sorry for your loss and that you have to join us. But, it is a great board of amazing strong women. I hope you feel welcome here.
I can't even imagine having a migraine for so long and mixing that in with TTC and a loss. I hope that you can get this problem under control and that you get pg again soon.
