Molls pee smells like cat pee?

This is so weird and I thought when I changed her last night I was just really tired.  It's not exactly that smell but it's close. That awful cat piss stink. At first I thought it was the Bac out out and her pee combo but it was in dipes that I didn't even treat yet.  I can't find any info on line.  Something she ate? Anyone have this happen?

Is it because you posted yesterday that her diapers never stink?

IDK...every once and a while K will have a really stinky pee diaper...I think it might be a certain type of insert (I think the hemp or bamboo ones?)...but I can't tell in terms of it being anything different that she ate.  She has had the same dinner two nights in a row and this morning her pee was stinky but yesterday it wasn't...the only thing I can think is because I used one of the other inserts last night.

I didn't know 'til I pulled the dipe off last night in a sleepy daze and I was all WTF?!  I sniffed her body and realized it was her pee and not the trash or a cat that had gotten into our garage and sprayed or something .(I was fvcking tired okay).  She had the microfiber inserts last night. I do have more of a pee smell with the bamboo but this is different than it's even been before.  So it's not even really the diapers it's seriously her piss.  I think she's catwoman.

I'm hoping she just ate something weird, she had a different food brand last night and I'm hoping that's it.  I don't know if it's something I need to keep an eye...nose? on.

Hmmmmm....then I don't know.  I guess I'd just feed her that food again and see if it stinks again?

Isla had this recently. Really strong urine smell. Ugh, the worst. I thinned out her formula since sometimes we might make that too strong. But as much fluids as she takes in we know she's not dehydrated. I was thinking the darker urine color/smell was due to possible dehydration. So giving her juice once a day and adding more water to the ratio of formula helped.

I guess. It was still like that this morning but not as strong.  bleck. Cat pee smell is so nasty.

Um you're absolutely right. Concentrated urine smells awful.

I just saw this. With the CDs  I don't really ever see color of her pee, I assume that it's clear. She's been drinking more water but I will add more in too. She's busy and it can't hurt at this point.

You might want to run it by your pedi. Some metabolic disorders present with strong smelling urine.

I will mention it to them. It happened suddenly and seems to be fading. But that's good to know, thanks.

Hopefully it was just a one (or two) time thing! I am a Neonatal ICU nurse so I know too much sometimes!

I totally understand. My mom is a nurse and sometimes I hesitate to mention things to her because she will go to the worst things lol.

I will keep an eye on her and a nose on her pee.  She is in a great mood and is bombing around like always. It was just so odd to have her urine smell like that. She's had strong smelling pee before but it was that ammonia smell, this was straight up cat pee.

I still give LO Poly-vi-sol...and noticed at different times her urine is a lot stronger.  Don't know if that has something to do with it.

My little one has that happen sometimes, so I just make sure to give her water with every meal and the stinky pee goes away.
