I subbed at the local elementary today and got to talking to one of the P.E. teachers about children and health, etc. So it came up that I was expecting and that I'd be trying to VBAC. Because most people don't know what that means I confined saying "birth vaginally after a section". She said, "I did that. I didn't know it was called something, but when I got pg with my second I had been told once a c/s always a c/s." Then she went on to say that she went to her appt. and thought she was supposed to schedule one, but the doc said, "you're not having a section this time. There's no reason."!!!!!
I about fell over. This was years ago before the ban at the local hospital. Her first section was for breech presentation. She delivered vaginally with a 14 HR. labor. Didn't progress until the end and wasn't pressured! She said the difference was huge and encouraged me that I needed to and could!
Btw, she got pg again after the VBAC, and the ban, and they told her it would have to be a section! Crazy! Sadly, she lost that baby.

Re: Met a VBACer IRL!
This makes me stabby. Even now that I've had a VBAC, I still worry I'll get forced into another section if I get pregnant again.
