What time do you temp?

I am just curious to what time most of you ladies temp in the morning and if you temp orally or vaginally? This is only my 2nd cycle temping (once before pg and now after m/c)....My temps have been all over the place and driving me crazy so far this cycle and wonder if my sleeping habits have anything to do with it.

I currently temp at 430am b/c DH leaves for work around that time, and he wakes me up to give me a kiss goodbye. I don't wake up until 630am for work, but since I get up real quick at 430am I figured I would temp then. Lately I haven't been sleeping well and a good bit of the time (this cycle) I am waking up at 300am which would throw my 430am temp off right? So I temp at 300am if I wake up since I would only get another 1 and half sleep if I temped at 430am. I am just so frustrated with my cycle/AF/temping etc.

I temp at 4:40. My DH gets up for work then and like yours he wakes me to say goodbye so it works well for us. I temp orally but in the past I did try vaginally. It felt weird so I quit after 1 cycle but if I had more than this month to TTC I think I would switch back. My sinus' have been so clogged during this 2ww that I think I am mouth breathing and messing up my temps....vaginal temping would be easier for that reason. I don't wake up a lot on my own but my 18 month old's crib is up against my side of the bed and he still wakes up 2-3 times some nights so I almost never get 4 solid hours of sleep. I just plug in the temp and hope everything averages out over time.

I temp orally between 7:20 - 7:30 every morning. I thought about doing it vaginally, but since I have been a long term TTA'er I couldn't stand the thought of doing it everyday.

When I wake up at 3am I usually just lay in bed and try to go back to sleep but sometimes I have to get up and go pee lol

 If I get up I usually temp at that time and at my normal time. If there isn't a huge difference, I use te temp from my normal time. If there is a big difference, I will use the earlier temp. One jacked temp won't make or break your cycle, but if this is a frequent issue, you might have to adjust your temping time. This whole process sucks!

I wake up before DH for work. Since I usually wake up between 6 - 6:30am, I just set my alarm for 6am and take it then. I'm sure taking temps vaginally is more consistent, but that just doesn't seem fun, so I do it orally. I'm a mouth breather and I'm sure it affects my temps, but I think my chart looks pretty good and I was able to tell the day I ovulated very easily.

I have tried that too but it started confusing me a lil lol doesn't take much sometimes   It seems like this cycle I have been waking up earlier than normal and more frequent so that is why I am concerned and debating on changing my time to earlier...who knows!!  I agree, I wish we didn't have to do this!

I temp anywhere from 6:15-6:45 in the morning (orally).  My alarm goes off at 6:10 and unless it's a weekend (where I immediately temp and turn off the alarm and go back to sleep), I usually hit snooze a couple times before temping.  I experimented one morning and temped before I got up to pee and then after I got back in bed - no big difference (MAYBE from 97.18 to 97.2).  So I think if you're getting up to pee at 3 and temping at 4:30, you'd be fine.  Try it one morning and see what happens.  Some people notice a huge difference, some don't.

I temp between 630-645.  I just switched to vaginal temping this cycle.  Thus far, not impressed and not really loving it, but I am serious mouth breather/drooler, so I thought I would give it a shot assuming that it would be more accurate.  The jury is still out on that idea.

I temp vaginally as close to 6:00 as I can. I am bad though and don't set an alarm on weekends since I usually do still wake up then or close enough regardless. I think if I was waking up at 3 some days but not getting up I would temp the hour and a half later. For me if I temp late or early by more than half an hour in either direction it makes a big difference. I also did experiment one weekend and found that my number does rise ~.1 for each hour, which is consistent with information I have seen elsewhere. Anyway what I am trying to say is I think as long as you aren't moving around a lot (are just going back to sleep) that it would be better to temp at the same time than the three hour sleep thing.

Ok. Ladies, thanks so much for your thoughts!! Really appreciate it I am thinking I might just stick with my 430am temp time and just hope it works out...this cycle is prob screwy too b/c it is my 1st one from the d&c...I just wish we didn't have to do this I hate that we are all here while it seems like so many other women just get pg like nothing...sorry I'm done venting!! Thanks for listening, I feel so lucky to talk to you ladies. You have helped me so much I can't even explain and I know I don't have to because you know the feeling

I set my alarm to temp at 3am.  I wake up a lot in the early morning, but I can usually make it til 3am without waking.  DD also sometimes still wakes up around 4, so I make sure to temp before she wakes up.  I've just started temping again after my m/c, and I'm having a hard time staying awake while I take my temp.  Then I find my mouth kind of open around the thermometer, so that's probably affecting my temp.
