Almost having a melt down

And I am not on clomid this time.

I am so frustrated with this whole process. The first time was easy, so to speak. I didn't have to deal with paperwork or insurance or bills or anything. This time is so different. First I had to pay for my progesterone lab to check for ovulation. Now I get another bill for $25 from the lab for all of the obstetric labs and 2 beta draws. My doctor wants to do two tests that are not covered under the insurance. I can see why karyotyping is not covered, but I feel the HSG should be. We can't do them now, we don't have the extra money.

I have had the worst time trying to find counseling. I received pamphlets from all my gp and my obgyn. I called 2 of them, the first number went to someones house, the second one just rang and rang. I finally got through to someone and have an appointment on Tuesday at 5pm. Hopefully this will help.

I was having a wonderful day until I got home. I took my class on a field trip and it was a great day. The weather was bad but it was still fun. I got home and the bill was there, it reminded me to call the insurance company about the tests. I got so upset I was determined to call for counseling.

It is raining here and DH is out playing soccer, I might head up can soup for dinner. Thanks for listening. I feel like I mostly lurk, I am just so busy.

Many states have IF requirements for insurance companies. I have read that it can get 'hairy' when a policy is written in a state other than the state it's to be used in though. I know in my state, while I have no IF coverage, ALL diagnostic testing is covered. It's not free, I still had to pay a portion ($260 of a $1200 bill) until my deductible was met.

Check out the site I listed below, look up your state and dig a little deeper. Sometimes you have to do some research on your own, especially when it comes to insurance companies! Good luck hon!

ugh...stupid insurance companies. Did they say why they won't cover the HSG? That does seem like a procedure they should cover.

No luck. I am in MI, they didn't have info about it. Thanks though.

The billing codes are for IF. I would think they might do this procedure for other reasons too.

Could they give you a different code at the Dr.? Mine is for history of ectopic pregnancies and history of miscarriage.

(I don't really know much about insurance billing, I don't know how it works.)
