lo constantly flaps her arms and slams her fists on her belly. i posted a few months back about this. it is constant, all the time. she is seven months and seemingly developmentaly on track. i am worried because this is often seen in children with autism. is my lo the only one that does this. it is in response to stimuli as well as spontaneous. thanks
Re: Arm flapping
DS does this! I've heard that it's a way of getting their energy out (he does seem to do it when he's excited, eating, or ready for the next thing/boredom-related?)....and usually stops (or occurs less often) when they start crawling and walking.
As long as babies are developmentally on track and act social (babbles, laughs, etc), I wouldn't worry much about autism. But always ask your doc if you have concerns. Good luck!
