We're having butternut squash soup and some yummy bread for dinner tonight. What other side dish should I have? I thought about salad but we had salad with dinner last night...
soup and bread is always a meal in our house... especially if the soup is hearty and the bread/rolls are homemade. Yum... now I want soup!
What kind of bread is it? You could make sandwiches instead with it... like a good grilled cheese w/ ham?
Or you could do a different type of salad than you had last night. We tend to have side salads 3-4 times a week, so I'll switch it up. One night we'll have romaine w/ chopped veggies, shredded cheese and croutons w/ homemade ranch... then spinach salad w/ hb egg, crumbled bacon and warm bacon/mustard dressing, then mixed greens w/ some type of fruit (sliced apple/pear, or dried cherries/cranberries) w/ pecans or walnuts and some crumbled blue or goat cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.
I am very random with my sides.. but what about something like risotto, israeli cous cous (or regular cous cous), or orzo? Sometimes instead of salad we do edamame. You could also saute a little spinach with garlic.
