colicky-bf babies??

i EBF and lately the past couple of weeks i feel like my dd has a case of colick, she jsut turned 3 months...non-stop crying...i feel everything i do she is not happy with...i just read on line that sometimes it helps just to feed her on one breast during feedings rather than switch breasts at every feeding....i also eat yogurt a lot, so i am going to cut that out of my diet so hopefully that will help...anyone have advice or similiar situation? thanks!

Could it be reflux?

My DD was colicky and had reflux.  I found that switching her back and forth from breast to breast made her happier.  I have no idea why but it worked.  She would eat a little and then cry.  If I tried to put her back on the same breast she would cry but if I switched to the other one she would eat.

hmmm i dont know...how long did the colick last for you?

we are going through this too... it totally sucks. Sometimes nursing while standing up and swaying him has worked. Also doing the bate and switch- put in his binkie for a few seconds, then taking it out and putting him on the breast.

My DD was inconsolable at times which was really difficult for us since DS was an easy going baby. I cut tomatoes out of my diet after noticing she was irritable after I would eat them ( I was keeping a food log for dieting) and that has really helped. I also keep DD upright for at least 45 minutes after eating and that has also really helped. Unfortunately it is trial and error, hang in there!

I read recently that researchers are now thinking that colic is due to an immature nervous system as opposed to diet. I thought that was interesting. It may be something you just have to wait out, unfortunately!
