Breastfeeding

Anyone else feel like they can't get any work done because of pumping?

I posted another post asking for help figuring out a pump schedule at work. I am pumping 2 times after I nurse at 7 am   Get to work for 740am and leave at 2:50 I get home around 430 to nurse. Ds gets 2 bottles at daycare.

Anyway, I have been pumping twice at work. I know 3 times would be better but I already feel like I'm doing a much worse job because of the time I have to take to pump ( like 1/2 hr each pump if you include set up and clean up). How is everyone else managing?

  • I hear you!  I had back to back meetings today so I was pumping during ALL my breaks.

I always pump at lunchtime so I end up snacking throughout the day instead of having a meal.  We get 1 hour for lunch (which I split into two 30 minute sessions) plus I take another 30 minute break.  So REALLY it's only that last 30 minutes that I need to make up.

This is why I bump all night instead of going to bed!  :-)

  • Don't know what kind of work you do, but do you have a hands-free pumping bra? I would suggest getting one so that you can be hands-free to catch up on work at the same time that you are pumping if that is something that can be done.
