Hi Ladies,
This is my first round of clomid and I was wondering when I can expect to O this month. I took Clomid CD 5-9 and got a neg on my OPK. How long will it take for me to ovulate after my last pill? Anyone have experience with this? My temp chart is all over the place and I'm feeling in the dark.
Re: Clomid and O'ing question
I think it affects everyone differently and depends on how you are responding to the dose you're taking. The times I've taken it I O'd around CD21 (which is later than they want to see) but I was only on 50mg. Once we start trying again I'll be on 100mg to try and move it closer to CD14. Take a look at my charts if you want (in siggy).
I just started a new job and don't really have the ability with adjusting to my schedule to be monitored right now. They offered, but I thought I would try it a bit first I guess. I'm charting and taking OPK's everytime I pee...lol...not really...it just feels that way.
Thanks for all the help. I'm just very anxious to know if these meds are working.
Before clomid I was O'ing anywhere from CD19 - CD25. On 50 mg I O'd on CD21 and on 100mg I O'd on CD15-16.
But it will definitely have a different effect on everyone.
Good luck!
Clomid can be really dangerous to take without monitoring. It can overstimulate your ovaries or create cysts, which are things you would never know by charting or using OPKs. Have you heard of Kate plus 8?? I'm sure if you google it or look around TB you will see numerous posts about it. My RE wouldn't prescribe it without the proper monitoring.

Kate did injectables, not clomid. OBs often don't monitor on clomid, REs do. My OB did not offer monitoring on 50mg of clomid and I did just fine on it. That being said, like PP mentioned, clomid can cause cysts and overstimulation, so it is important to be monitored, but not required. It can be a dangerous drug, but not everyone who takes it will have 6 kids at once.
