gripe water for constipation?

I picked up a bottle of gripe water for P's gas a couple weeks ago and his poops got more regular and softer (they had been quite solid since eating solids) for a few days. I thought maybe he was just having some tummy issues- didn't think too much of it since he seemed to feel ok.  Well, he got constipated the other day and seemed to have a belly ache. I gave him a dose of gripe water and poof- a nice soft poop about an hour later.

Anyone else notice this?  I may throw out the juice and keep the gripe water on hand for poop issues... Confused

Re: gripe water for constipation?

  • Which kind of gripe water did you get?

My little one has been having dough like poop for like the last week. It is a lot more solid then before. And he really pushes it out, you can see it on his face! I feel so bad for him.

Should I stop the bananas and apples, since they kind od casue constipation?

  • The brand is Mommys Bliss.

P has been on solids since 3.5 mos and has only been constipated maybe 3 times (and by constipated, I mean he went 1-2 days with no poop. That's the worst it's gotten for us. He's typically a poo machine!) He has fruit every morning with his oatmeal for breakfast, so idk about fruit causing it. I thought the oatmeal and rice were typically blamed?
