During my first ultrasound I had three sacs. I went Monday for my next ultrasound and there were 2 hearbeats, 101 and 119 (I'm 6 weeks). The tech said she didn't see a heartbeat or fetal pole in the third sac. I've had three miscarriages and just this morning I started spotting. I'm freaking out because of my history. The doctor never explained what would happen to the third sac so I don't know if the spotting is from that. I have another ultrasound today to make sure the other two are ok. I'm trying to relax but very worried. I've also had some mild cramping for a while on the sides as well as the front. I just attributed it to growing pains of the uterus. I did tell my RE and he didn't seem too concerned about it. The spotting is pink and light and I don't have any cramps at the moment. I was just wondering if any of you had experienced the loss of one of your multiples and what happened?? TIA!

Re: Has anyone had experience losing one of their babies?
I had early bleeding around 6 weeks and then lost baby C a little after 8 weeks. I did not have any bleeding after that loss and after another 8-10 weeks you couldn't see baby C on the u/s anymore.
I went on to have healthy twins.
Good luck!
i'm sorry for the loss of your triplet. It's always a sad thing, even if you were freaked out by having 3 - it's always sad to lose a baby.
It's considered a "disappearing" triplet - and your body will just absorb it. This is quite common- most people don't even know it happens b/c not everyone gets such early US's.
It does not effect the rest of the pregnancy... so that's always good news.
I have quite a few friends IRL who have had disappearing twins - and all went on to have successful pregnancies.
Prayers for your LO - and for the rest of your pg - i know having m/cs = extra worry - so arm yourself with knowledge so you can feel that you have some control... Dr. Luke's book is a great resource for a multiples pregnancy.
Thanks so much Goldie. I've heard about that book. I'll definitely look into getting after I'm confident that both will make it. I was a little freaked out about having 3, but you're right, it's still sad to know it's not viable. I take comfort in having seen the hbs on Monday but I still worry. I'm taking it easy today and resting as much as possible.
We lost baby D when we went for our u/s at 7 weeks we saw 4 sacs only 3 had heart beats. The day after my u/s I started bleeding bright red. I went to the hospital and still saw the 4 sacs. I went back at 9 weeks and had u/s and the sac had most the way absorbed. The Drs told me it was normal to just absorb the sac and not even know it.
Sorry for your lose.
