So I decided upon the Medela PISA for the breastpump I wanted to get.  While it's on my baby registry, I'm pretty much expecting (and comfortable with) paying for it myself.  My aunt emailed me today to say that she had some baby stuff to give me the next time they come down to visit, including her barely used Medela PISA.  Part of me is saying "great, I can put that $$$ towards other stuff for baby."  And the other part of me is saying I just want a brand-new one.  (We would like to have at least one more LO in a few years.)  So my dilemia is what to do.  I'm not worried about the cleanliness factor since it is from my aunt and I know she maybe used it for a week or two, after which my cousin was EBF.  I just can't decide if I'm being silly for wanting my own new one or if it would be okay to use hers.

   I would buy my own. I know they're sooooo freaking expensive, but really worth it, I think. I know she's your aunt and you trust her w./ the cleanliness and everything, but I heard that you're not supposed to share pumps at all.

You arn't suppose to share, its like needles. (sorry for the extreme comparison) I love my PISA so I recommend it! =D

I am currently using a barely used PISA pump.  All new tubes and stuff.  If you trust the person that used it prior to you, save the $$ for another item.

Save the $$$. I am using one of my friend's barely used Medela PISA. I got new tubing, valves, membranes and such for it. At 7 months in we have had no problems.

If it is family and you know her well and know she is clean, I would take it.  I used my sisters but I would never buy a used one from someone I don't know.
