I know it seems like I'm always a debbie downer when I come on here, but I promise I'll be better

October has been a crazy, crazy month! The last time I was here, I wasn't sure if this pregnancy was going to be okay. After waiting almost an entire month, we finally got to see a little heartbeat in mid-September! I am currently 15 weeks pregnant, and we find out the gender on 11/7. It's crazy how fast this pregnancy has gone by! Cassie is so excited about being a big sister and is constantly asking what is taking the baby so long to come out

Obviously, September ended on a happy note, but then we got into October and everything went downhill. My ex-BIL died in a horrific motorcycle accident the first weekend into the month. I was beyond devastated. I knew him since I was just 11 years old and he was still like a brother to me, even after my sister divorced him. To top it off, I read the news article the morning he died and just *knew* it was him. It wasn't until later that evening that his family realized he was missing, and I had to tell them to look into the accident I had read about. It was just terrible, he was only 40 years old, and my poor niece and nephew are now left without their dad....

A week after his death, I started getting treated like crap by the director at my job, which coincidentally was just 2 weeks after I submitted my FMLA paperwork. I filed a complaint with HR and guess who ended up getting fired this past Friday? ME! I work for a government office so I have to admit I was not surprised. It's a loooong complicated story so I won't bore you guys with the details, but I will say I'm contacting a lawyer. It's a classic case of discrimination, and not only because I am pregnant.

So while it probably wasn't the best time to be let go, I am actually okay with everything. I had not been happy for a very, very long time. The commute was terrible, the environment was beyond stressful, so in a lot of ways, it has been a blessing in disguise.

So, in case any of you were wondering why I fell off the face of the earth for the last month or so, now you know why I'm looking forward to being on here more since it looks like I have more time on my hands now. Well at least until baby #2 arrives in April.

Wow, you've had a lot on your plate lately!

I'm so sorry about your BIL - losing a loved one is so devastating. (((hugs)))

Boo to getting fired, but yaaay to being proactive - hopefully your lawyer will think you have a case and you can get some resolution.

I'm so sorry to hear about your ex-BIL, my heart breaks for his children.

 

Good luck regarding your employment case, I'm sure it was emotionally tough to deal with, but it sounds like it really is for the best at this time and now I just hope you can work towards a positive outcome

welcome back!  that's a lot to go through (ever - much less in a month!).  I'm so sorry to hear about your ex-BIL.  and good luck with your job - so stressful, but it sounds like you have a strong case.
