Vent: I feel like I lost a friend

     So, my computer kicked the bucket. My capacitor in my motherboard blew...so it's dead for sure. I've had the computer for 6 years and it was nice while it was alive - It has been slowly dying for a long time and finally went to the Best Buy in the sky.

     I feel so lost without it. It is so sad I feel so depressed over losing it - but my hard drive and everything is now corrupted and part of my life is gone.  I have a back up of most of the really important stuff - but I guess as a geeky girl my computer is like a best friend that has all my friends in it. Yeah, I have this laptop to use for now that is Zach's, but... I don't know. I suppose I am stupid for the memories I had while I owned it. 

I don't expect anything out of this post - but I just know I won't be able to afford a new one for a good long time that can run the games I have...and it makes me ultra depressed. I just needed to vent. Thanks for letting me.

This.  Good thing you had everything backed up.  I am neurotic about my external hard drive... I save everything there... just in case.

I don't know what you need to run your games but I found a PC at Sam's for less than $500 and it is rocking at Photoshop, so it may be enough for you.  Here are the specs:

64-bit 

I was going to get an i7 but ran into this, and I am so happy with it.  Bummer about your computer... I hope you can get another one soon!

Hugs.  Losing a computer is quite traumatizing.  I hope you will find some comfort in knowing its at the Best Buy in the sky.

This happened to me this summer and I completely understand!  I lost nearly everything except some music that I had also put on my husband's computer and my wedding pictures.  Pictures from college and the last couple of years, all gone.  All my work for my master's degree and my research paper, gone.
