(probably dumb) ?s about ice cube trays/pumping

Hi all,

was just wondering how you ladies go about freezing your pumped milk in ice cube trays? I'm interested to try this, but I haven't the slightest idea where to start. Here's the questions I have- any help is REALLY appreciated!

1) is it just a regular ice cube tray that you use? Mine seems to have different-sized slots so I wasn't sure if that's normal.

2) do you do anything to the tray to make sure the milk doesn't stick/ cubes don't break? (this is probably a silly question, but I've never frozen milk before)..

3) Do you wait until you've pumped enough to freeze a whole tray at once, or just freeze a few cubes at a time?

4) How long do you let the milk freeze in the tray before transferring it to another storage container? And what do you use to store the frozen cubes- freezer bags?

    Hi all,

was just wondering how you ladies go about freezing your pumped milk in ice cube trays? I'm interested to try this, but I haven't the slightest idea where to start. Here's the questions I have- any help is REALLY appreciated!

    1) is it just a regular ice cube tray that you use? Mine seems to have different-sized slots so I wasn't sure if that's normal. My trays were smaller too; most people say theirs are 1 oz cubes but mine were more like 3/4 of an oz, so I just adjusted my measurements.

    2) do you do anything to the tray to make sure the milk doesn't stick/ cubes don't break? (this is probably a silly question, but I've never frozen milk before).. It won't stick or break. It comes out easily.

    3) Do you wait until you've pumped enough to freeze a whole tray at once, or just freeze a few cubes at a time? I would just freeze whatever I had pumped, pop them out when they were frozen, wash the tray and then start again (because I am cheap and only bought one.) Usually it was 3-4 oz.

    4) How long do you let the milk freeze in the tray before transferring it to another storage container? And what do you use to store the frozen cubes- freezer bags? I bought dollar store ice cube trays with lids, so I could leave them for a day or two, but you really should label/date them a.s.a.p. I put them in freezer bags.

I guess technically now I should be SecondBabyMomma Lilypie Third Birthday tickers Lilypie First Birthday tickers
