Baby Names

Do y'all do intros here?

I haven't really noticed intros on this board. I lurk here on and off and have posted a handful of times, but always kind of felt like an intruder.

I like to come here for name ideas, and learn from all the 'name nerds' that post here regularly.   I have a DD and am expecting a second baby at the end of May.  We had such a difficult time naming DD that I think I will be hanging out here a lot more often with LO#2!

Thanks ladies!

Her middle name is O'Day- it's a family name that we were set on using for our first born regardless of gender.

  • This board is different from most of the others, it's kind of a free-for-all.  Some of us know each other by name, and we post regularly, others come and go.

Nova O'Day sounds like an old-timey jazz singer's name - I like it a lot!

Thanks! Her name really fits her, and was totally different from the other names on our list!

And thanks for the board explanation. I will try not to feel so awkward about posting here from now on.

very preliminary.  I will be posting about them soon I hope.

Our boy name last time around was Liam, but since then 1 friend, 1 distant cousin, and 1 co-worker all named their babies Liam.  I am still open to using the name, but I am not sure I want to deal with the popularity.

I still like Rowan for a girl, which was 'the runner up' last time. But I am very willing to revisit our long list of girls names when DH is ready.

  • Your baby is due on my birthday!  Congrats.  I had a girl named Rowan a few years ago, it's one of the few boys names that is now a girl's name that I like.
