When you are on a walk with your LO do you talk to them a lot? I was told I should be talking and pointing out what everything is.
I talk all day at work and sometimes I like to walk and not say anything, but I feel bad.
Also do you talk to them a lot when you are playing? Sometimes I just like to watch her play.

Re: Maybe a weird question
I have to do this all the time.
I try to, and I end up sounding real stupid to myself. "do you hear the birds? look, a blue car!" and then "what are the neighbors thinking about me?" then I shrug and figure having a baby gave me the right to do rediculous things for her.
For playtime, if she's having fun or really interested, I'll just let her go at it and be quiet.

Same here. I'm not an introvert, but I do need to remind myself to talk out loud to my girls.
We do stop along the way sometimes to look at a pretty flower or cute puppy, which I always talk about with DD, and I think I'm pretty good about doing so otherwise, though I also love silently watching her play. I guess it's all a balancing act, right?
When I take her to the store, I talk to her. She's usually in a sling on me, and she'll look around at things. If she looks at an object, I'll tell her what it is. If she looks up at me, I'll say Hi and jabber to her.
When she's in a stroller, I don't talk to her as much, because I don't know what she's looking at. I think they need to be looking at what you're talking about ("Car, tree, doggie"), to make the connection between language and object.
I don't talk to her all the time; sometimes I can tell she wants to be left alone to play and explore things.
