I'm feeling positive after meeting with my RE. He said that based on my response in prior IUI cycles (2-4 follicles) and my FSH numbers, they feel that this past cycle was a fluke, we have never asked my ovaries to work so hard before, and they may have "taken a break" this month. He said there is no indication of DOR.
He wants to change the meds approach this month, and I will do a Lupron flare and low dose HCG. They are still having me do the Estrogen Priming Protocol, but the good news is that they did b/w today to make sure I am past ovulation and if so they will start me on the estrace tonight and I can start injections with my next cycle, hopefully late next week. He said he feels very confident that we will see an improved response to the next cycle that will give us more to work with for the IVF.
I'm really thankful about this, I wanted to get another cycle in as soon as possible before the end of the year, and I was stressing a little about having to wait until the next CD 20 to start the Estrace and that it would just be another delay, so this is good news.
Thanks for all of the support after my cancelled cycle and also for the education here...I knew so much more at this appointment than at my initial appointment back in February and so much of that is from reading about your experiences...I wouldn't have known about Lupron flare if it hadn't been for this board, and so many other things. You ladies are awesome!

Looks like we will be cycleing at the same time again. I also had bloodwork this morning and waiting for call to start estrace. Trying to get a follow up appt with Dr for this Friday but not really sure it is worth it for me since he already told nurse that he wants to try same protocol (450 Follistim w/ 15 units low dose HCG) but just increase the strength of the low dose HCG. Not sure if it is worth taking the time off to go or I should just try this next round and then meet with him if there is still no response.

I got the go ahead to start estrace tonight, did you hear from them yet about starting yours?
About meeting with the doctor, do you have a specific goal for the appointment? If you want to talk to him about why he isn't changing your protocol, if you have some concerns then it's worth taking the time off. hopefully you can get the appointment!

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

Yes, I got the call to start estrace tonight and I have an appt with dr on Thursday at 130 - nurse thinks it is worth it for me to talk to him about why he feels this is the best protocol and see what he says about other possible things that could be tried so I said yes to the appt. I guess I am just afraid of him reminding me how slim my chances are and telling me that in his opinion this is the most aggressive protocol and there would be nothing else to try if this round doesn't work.
I know how slim the chances are and I really don't want to be reminded. Hopefully it will go better than I think. In any event looks like we will be starting around the same time again - so gl to both of us!
