Cold or flu?

Ugh, I feel like ass this morning! How do you tell between the cold and a flu? I never get sick, so I really don't know!

I have cold symptoms, but also very achy and yucky....even my c section scar hurts! No fever...I think that might be what makes it the flu, yes?

Hmmm, I'm not exactly sure, but from what I've heard the flu really knocks you on your butt.  I would think it would include a fever.  I hope you feel better!!  Are you able to rest today or do you have kids?

I had the flu 2 years ago (H1N1 while pregnant, not fun) and it honestly made me feel like I ran a marathon, had a hangover and hit my head with a sledge hammer. My muscles ached so bad, I had the worst headache imaginable and I just felt overall aweful. All while coughing. I didn't have a stuffy nose or sinus issues with the flu. I threw up a lot, but I did that my entire pregnancy so I'm not sure if that was flu related or if it was just my ongoing morning sickness. I didn't find out I had the flu until about 5 days after they started testing, since it takes forever I guess.

I have to say, either way it sounds like you feel miserable. I hope you feel better really soon!! Keep hydrated, pedialyte is the best. Since I was hospitalized when I had the flu (height of H1N1 chaos) they kepts giving me those pedialyte popcycles. They were cold, sweet awesomeness! Is R sick too?

Not sure. If you didn't get much sleep last night because of all cold symptoms, that could leave you feeling icky. I think it's the flu if you have a high fever associated with everything else.

I wasn't sure either so I googled it and here's what came up on the cdc website. Not much help.

In my experience when i have a cold is mostly is sneezy, coughing, runny nose, or congestion. when i have the flu it's fever, chills, achy all over, plus some head symptoms too. my go to drug is the orange flavor alkaseltzer

Thanks! I felt pretty good during the day, just pretty congested.....and of course the evening hits and I feel horrible again. Early to bed tonight! I am going with a crappy cold, not the flu.
