We Survived Last Week!

The funeral/wake for DH's grandpa went as well as could be expected.  My parents came to the funeral, and the girls started making too much noise a few minutes in, so they took them out of the room and played with them in the front hall.  This helped so much, because DH was the one to speak for his family....and it was really hard for him.  Sad  He definitely didn't expect to have a hard time with it, but he made me and his family very proud.

Later at his family's house the girls were a great distraction entertaining everyone and eating about a million cookies that all the older relatives kept feeding them.  Surprise

My brother's wedding went great.  I got all my desserts done for the rehearsal dinner because my BIL came over during the day Friday to entertain the girls since he was off work- thank God!!  The desserts looked amazing - I'll try and post pics when I get some.

My brother's wedding on Saturday was beautiful.  The girls did great during the ceremony- we rotated with milk, raisins, cheese sticks, and new books.  They clapped when my brother said "I do" (hee hee), and B did her fake laugh when the father of the bride made a joke when he gave her away.  She got a big laugh.  Big Smile  The only thing that stunk was that we didn't get a family pic of the 4 of us like I planned.  They delayed serving the meal, and it took so long I had to put them down for a nap in the house (it was at my new SIL's parent's MASSIVE home).  So by the time they woke up it was time to pack up and go.  But we got the big family pics with the bride and groom, so at least we have that!

Unfortunately I came down with a wicked cold on Wednesday that I had to put aside so we could get through all the events.  On Saturday night it hit me HARD.  My sainted mother called Sunday and said she was coming over to watch the girls so I could stay in bed- thank god!  After yesterday and a night of laying low tonight, I should be good.

    Wow, sounds like a busy week, but you survived. Great job! And good for your DH for speaking at the funeral. That must have been so hard.

    I LOL'd at your DD who fake laughed during the speech. That's hysterical!

    Glad you're back home!
