Saw the Dr this afternoon and had it removed. It felt a little crampy but once it was out I felt nothing! I am a little confused though. The OB who took it out is new, as I was trying out a new Dr since we moved. He said to wait about a month before we start trying. The Mirena website says you can start right away. I called the OB who delivered the twins and the nurse there said no need to wait. I liked the new OB enough to take it out but will likely not stay with him as I didn't love him. Anyway just wondering if anyone else has had experience with removing mirena and what you were told? TIA!
Re: Mirena is OUT! Some ?'s
I was told to wait and use OPKs in the cycle(s) prior to TTC to make sure that I was ovulating since I had to use Metformin regulate my cycles when we were TTC our oldest. I conceived the twins the first month that we tried after having the Mirena removed but it was the fourth cycle after having it removed. We waited bc I didn't want to be pregnant on our vacation at Disneyland. I've always wondered if I would have conceived twins on any of the prior months.

Lurker. Sorry...
I've heard the hyperovulation thing as well and I have a friend with fraternal twin boys which were conceived immediately after Mirena removal. I think that the hyperovulation thing is true not just for Mirena, but a lot of different BCs. My midwife even checked to see if this pregnancy was a multiple one b/c it was directly after Mirena (3 months, anyway).
