What does the red ring look like?

I am concerned about a dairy allergy in my BF son. My pedi says not enough can pass through breast milk but I am still concerned. I am cutting it out to see but I wasted to know what the ring looks like. Is it just around the anus or a larger area??

I wish someone who knows would've answered this - I've wondered this too and it's not exactly and appealing Google search!

My LO's is around a larger area I guess... but you have to spread his butt checks to see it and then it looks like a perfect oval or circle with his anus in the middle. When you spread his cheeks, I knew right away that's what it was... it's pretty apparent when you see it!

So if lo has this but is on Neocate, and thus in theory not being exposed to allergen, shouldn't it go away?

Same with us and I agree, once you see it you know what it is. And FYI, your pedi is dead wrong. Dairy can go through breastmilk to your LO and he can have an allergic reaction to it. GL

Totally agreed.  I can't believe a Ped. would actually say otherwise.

Aidan's has always been a small ring right around the anus.  I actually thought it was just what his butt looked like until he was put on Rx. formula and it went away.
