Two Under 2

Help!

I'm pregnant with baby #2 and this pregnancy is wayyyyy different than DD.  I am nauseous 24/7.  I never feel good anymore.  I have almost constant heartburn.  I always feel under the weather, like I'm about to get a fever.  My belly is always upset and I'm so tired (I am working 40+ hours a week and chasing a toddler around).  I know it might sound like I'm complaining, but the first pregnancy was smooth sailing....no sickness or other problems whatsoever until the last 2 weeks i had preeclampsia.  Can anyone recommend some good medicines or home remedies to make me feel better?  I'd like to enjoy my toddler, not have her watch me puke and cry all the time.  TIA

Re: Help!

  • I had the same problems with both pregnancies, but much worse with number #2.  I found Preggie Pops (got them at BRU) to be really helpful.  Some flavors more than others.  Tums were always near by and I stopped eating tomato sauce because it has too much acid.  I used pesto instead on my pasta or just Parmesan cheese.  I feel for you. It really sucks.

  • I was so much sicker with #2- constant morning sickness. I had a script for zofran-it absolutely saved me from being sick all the time. I just about lived on zofran, ginger ale and saltines for 15 weeks. Drink lots of water. Tums are always good too. And, if your heartburn gets real bad and if you don't have high bp- a tsp of baking soda in water helps (as gross as it sounds- I had heartburn so bad I would almost be in tears and this is the only thing that helped.)
