? for those with Chevy Traverse

This spring we plan to get a Traverse.  We will have an almost two year old and a newborn.  We plan to have 4 kids in all and have them each be about two years apart.  That of course could all change but that is the plan for now.  My question is, would you get one with the second row bucket seats or the second row bench seat?  I'm trying to imagine what would be best with all the car seats and I see pluses and minuses for both.  Thanks for your input!

Re: ? for those with Chevy Traverse

  • We special ordered a 2nd row bench so we could put DD in the middle.  I haven't tried, but it seems like one could get 4 car seats ok.

Take your carseat(s) with you to the dealer and try it out.

  • I have the bucket seats.  That is what I would recommend for you.  By the time your third and fourth are born, your older two should be able to buckle themselves up, whether in carseats or boosters.  There is enough room for an adult to walk between the two bucket seats to get to the back.  If it was a bench seat and there were two carseats in it, you would not be able to flip it forward to get to the back seat.
  • You almost have to go with the 2 bucket seats because the bench seat won't fold with carseats in it, thus how will your other kids get into the backseat?

We were in a similar situation last fall, I also have a 15 yr old stepdaughter.  So with the 3 yr olds carseat and infant seat in the middle row there was no way for her to get into the back aside from crawling in through the trunk.

  • ditto the other answers. I really like this suv but i am concerned about the cargo space for when going out town. We have 3 kids ages 3, 2 and 2 months (Lots misc. stuffs).  If you have a family of five should I  be concerned ?

    Thanks!!!
