Hi all. I'm going on a 4 hour plane trip with my 6 month old. I have a list of tips but wondering if I'm missing anything. Toys, nurse during take off/landing, extra clothes for all of us, nursing cover, gate check car seat and stroller. Anything else? Thanks!
Re: Travel tips?
Use a backpack for carry on. This way you can have your hands free to handle LO even if you have to board a plane using stairs, etc. (also to fold the stroller on the jetway). Get everything out of the stroller before boarding (I always see parents frantically trying to get everything out of the stroller on the jetway).
Have ziploc bags in your carry on for soiled clothes and diapers (needless to say you want to change baby in the bathroom, but if you're stuck on a runway or it's really bumpy that might not be possible---having a ziploc to stick it in until you can get to a trash can is very helpful). Ask the flight attendant which bathrooms have changing tables. Not all planes even have changing tables and on some planes it's only certain ones. Trust me, they are awesome (trying to change them without one in an airport bathroom can be done, but it's not pretty).
Most of all, relax and go with the flow. It will never go exactly as planned, but it will all work out in the end.
