I met with the RE on Friday for the consult, got all the paperwork we need to sign and get notarized and went over the game plan for the next few months until we cycle in January.
He suggested I start 50mg. of DHEA each day. He also said I could add CoQ10 in the mix too if I wanted too.
I asked him his thoughts on accupuncture and he said it definitely wouldn't hurt so he recommended an accupunturist to me. I made an appointment for early November to try it out.
I'm already on BCPs. DH and I will be doing our STD panels in December, SHG and trial transfer will be the first week of January. Then we should be all set to start stims.
I'll be starting me on Metformin in December and will be stimming with Follistim and Ganirelix. The RE said we're "ICSI all the way" due to DH's morphology.
My nurse was very surprised I already knew so much about the whole process. I told her I have you wonderful ladies to thank for that!
A few interesting things I learned:
Apparently I have some "markers" for PCOS without actually having PCOS - elevated AMH (4.7), adult acne, etc. I also apparently have a "healthy" testosterone level (34).
My RE spent a lot of time discussing FETs with me. He said I shouldn't be surprised if in 5 years or so, all REs are doing FETs instead of fresh transfers if the embies are a good enough quality to freeze. Apparently this is because while the stims are great for producing multiple eggs, they're terrible for the endometrium. He said they're finding they have much better success rates when they allow the body to "recoup" from the stim process and then do a FET. (I thought that was all very interesting.)
So now...we just need to get through the holidays...I have to admit, time is flying. I can't believe my last IUI was in the beginning of July and now it's almost November!
ETA: Sorry ladies, edited to clarify about FETs.
Re: IVF consult was Friday
Sounds like a good game plan! GL with your cycle in January.
Moving forward with Adoption 2017!

And that is pretty interesting about the FETs.

It will be here before u know it! GL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting about the FET's. It makes sense, providing u have high quality blasts to freeze...which a lot of people don't get.
My RE has always said that fresh gives u the best odds...but it's all food for thought.
Very good. It's great to have a plan for moving forward. Best of luck!
I agree that is interesting about the FETs. However, we've never had any frosties due to our extra embryos not meeting quality standards... I sure hope we have our baby/ies before then, otherwise we're in trouble.

With the holidays in between, the time will fly and you'll be cycling before you know it! Good luck.
That's interesting about the FETs, but as others said, there's a good number of us who don't have any embies that make it to freeze, so I'm pretty sure that fresh transfers will be around for a while longer.

Not sure what to do now. Sad and lost.
i love a plan! GL & PPV
i have always gotten pregnant w/ fresh cycles and 1 time with an FET (i've done 2)
i think FET's are much easier on the body but if you don't get frosties or only produce a couple of eggs i would never take the chance of not transferring fresh. also, what if my frosties didn't survive the thaw? too much to worry about imo
