Which One?

Which One?

I love both Cormac and Conrad for a boy. Both are strong names with long histories, and means something to either my or DH's families. So, which do you think is more wearable?  (BTW- Rad would probably only be used as a family nickname, whereas Mac would probably be used outside the family as well.)

    I have never heard of Cormac, but Conrad is on our short list.  I vote Conrad!

    Do the meanings mean something to your families or the origin? b/c Cormac.... means "Impure Son" or "Son of defilement."  lol   If I had to choose I would pick Conrad - although neither are really MS

    SURPRISE! Pregnant without intervention - 7/2012 
    Sweet Baby James Born 3/2013
    Decided to be "One and Done"

    ....OR NOT.
    Pregnant 12/2018 despite birth control pills
    Here we go again...
    Due 8/26/19!

    I'd go with Conrad. Cormac makes me think of MacCormac's seasoning... (No, this doesn't mean that MacCormac is an acceptable baby name... just in case you go there.)

    I guess I'm the only one that prefers Cormac.  I just feel like Conrad is too old man still for my liking.

    Sounds like I'm the only one who likes Cormac. lol

    I like the way is sounds much better than Conrad. "Rad" makes me think of the words radical and radiator (I'm a child of the 80's AND a mechanic's wife...perhaps that's why I make those associations).

    Also, Cormac makes me think of the Canadian actor Eric McCormack (who starred in "Will & Grace") and I've always liked him. Big Smile

    Ha ha. We posted at the same time. I agree with that as well...Conrad sounds a bit old to me...and a bit frumpy. And the "Con" at the beginning of it makes me think of con man.

    Wow. Sorry. Didn't realize I felt so strongly about this name!

    Cormac is my FI's favorite name and on our short list - so I vote for that. Conrad always makes me think the boy from Cat in the Hat with Mike Meyers.

    I like Cormac. . .then again, I'm a big Harry Potter fan, too. Of course, I know that Cormac certainly has deep roots in its own non-HP right. 

    I prefer it to Conrad.

    I like them pretty similarly, but I'd lean toward Conrad. The nn Rad is fun! (The nn Mac makes me think of truckers)
