Do you think I'll be induced?

I will be 40 weeks on Wed. I am due Friday, I haven't been having any contractions, just tons of pressure and little back pain. He said if I don't have him by the 28th we'll induce. When do they usually plan a date to induce you? After your due date?

I don't think anyone can say whether or not you'll be induced. I was with both kids. DD was 11 days late and DS was 10 days late. Is there a reason he only wants you to go 2 days overdue? My doctor was okay with up to 2 weeks, but because of the timing and availability of hospital rooms we scheduled the induction a few days before that.

I was due on a Sunday, went in for my appointment on a Monday and was induced that night.  DD was 8 lbs and I have a small frame so they wanted her out before she got too much bigger.

Only you can answer that question. Your doctor can say "let's induce," but you have to agree.

Up to two weeks late was fine by me, but I was induced d/t blood pressure spikes. I honestly hated the idea of it. If it wasn't for the increased risk of placental abruption, I would have gone past two weeks late (if I didn't go into labor) and had u/s to check on the placenta.  I really really wanted a spontaneous labor.

Some doctors are adamant about only 1 week overdue and some will go up to 2 weeks.

The average pregnancy length for a FTM is 41 wk 1 day. Please do what you feel is right. Good luck.
