M/N for Cameron? (Girl)

We find out thursday what we are having.  I am beside myself waiting!!!!  It is driving me insane, but atleast now i can see a light at the end of the tunnel (IF baby cooperates lol).  We have had our boy name picked out for ages but have had a harder time with the girls name.  So, I need middle name ideas!

we have narrowed our names down to two.  Mckenzie Lauren or Cameron (MAY spell it Camryn).  anyways, we are having a hard time with coming up with a MN idea for Cameron.  any ideas?

 Thanks!

Re: M/N for Cameron? (Girl)

  • Cameron is a boys name and adding a Y to the name will not make it a girls name, it just makes it look like the parents can't spell.

    Sorry.

  • I know little girls named Cameron...actually spelled both ways.  What about Marie for a middle name?  Or Elizabeth?

  • I think you may have meant to post this on march 2012 board but I like Cameron just not with a y! GL how exciting

  • Cameron was on our girl list but now we have become friends with a couple and their daughter is Cameron so it would be weird.  I really like the name for a girl.  What about Lynn for a middle name?  I like the Marie and Elizabeth suggestions too.

  • Since Cameron's a unisex name, I'd go girly on the middle name.  I was going to suggest Elizabeth too!

  • I like Cameron for a girl but I may be in the minority because I like it spelled Camryn for a girl. I would definitely pair it with a girly middle name, I like Vanessa. Also to the poster who said this name is for a boy it is a Unisex name I know 3 girl Cameron and 2 boy Cameron.

  • I wouldn't do it with a "Y." But I'm in the camp that doesn't enjoy unique spellings. It only makes it harder on the child in life to have to spell and re-spell their name their whole life.

  • I think a girly one-syllable MN is the way to go.  Rose, Ann, Grace, etc.

  • One of our top 3 names for DD was Camryn (spelled like that).  I'm not a big fan of changing spelling or adding a random "y" to a name, but I wanted people to know she was a girl if they were just looking at her name.  We went with Natalie instead and her midddle name is Paige.  We would have used Paige if she would have been Camryn also.

  • My sister in law's name is Cameron Hope, which I think is cute. I liked it spelled Cameron, I'm not a fan of adding "y" in names that don't need it. Its very trendy, IMO.

  • First of all think Cameron is a beautiful name for a girl (actress Cameryn Manheim comes to mind).  Second you have been given some great choices for a middle name.  Agree should be more girly since Cameron can be used for a boy!!  Love Elizabeth, Hope and Paige!!!  I think either spelling is fine.

  • Love the middle name choices so far. Elizabeth is great - thinking about that for our middle name, too. I was going to say how on earth are you finding out so soon, but then I noticed you are far ahead LOL.

I also think, depending on your last name, same letter middle names could be nice, too -- Cameron Claire, Cameron Cecilia?

  • LOVE Cameron for a girl. Not crazy about weird spellings. I was thinking Cameron Raye...?

  • I have friends that have a little girl Kameryn and her MN is Mae.  I think Cameron Mae would be cute.  P.s. the name Cameron rocks :)

    Sorry.

Yes, tell that to Cameron Diaz...

anyway, My DD is Cameron Rose.  I agree with PP, that since it's a gender nuetral name, a girlie middle name is good.  We were gonna do Leigh, but then I figured there would be no defining way to tell she was a girl when reading her name on a paper or something.  :o

also, just my 2 cents, I am not a fan of changing it to a y.
