"Oh...you just have the one?  well....My granddaughter has 4 kids - a 10 year old, 5 year old and 9-month old twins.  She's a great Mom!  And she works full-time.  And she goes to the gym everyday!!  She's amazing!!"  Says the lady in line at the grocery store.

Seriously - like there isn't enough pressure on new moms to begin with.  Now I should be going to the gym everyday!?!  How DARE I not fit that in with my ONE child and part-time job.  I must be such a slacker.  UGH.  I wish people would just mind their own business.

Yeah I know what you mean! Nobody knows how to mind their business. I have one child and a part time job too. Everyone's always like "Are you going to have another?" ...Look, she's 8 months, I don't know yet. I'm just focusing on the here and now.

Old ladies especially are so nosey. This doesn't really relate to your topic, other than the nosey part. But I was at Walgreens one day and Natalie was chewing on her teething toy. And the old lady is oooo-ing and aww-ing over her and then she asks me "Can she handle that toy? Is it stuck in there?" Oh. Yeah. I'm just going to stare at my baby while a toy is stuck in her mouth.... It was a freakin teething toy and no it was not stuck at all. My gosh.

So true!!  This same old lady, when I told her we just wanted one child, told me, "you'll have another one".  Apparently, she knows my desires & circumstances better than I do!

As for the comment about the toy ...amazing that your child has made it this far since you obviously give her non-age appropriate toys. *insert sarcasm here*

LOL I'm a terrible person because I really would have replied, "Shut up, stranger." I handle people I know with kid gloves when they say stupid crap like that, but I rarely give rude people I don't know the same courtesy.

ok vanfox, I think this is the 3rd post i'm quoting you on today   I swear i'm not a creep! haha

but I agree- I let fam and friends piss me off silently all the time. Apparently I let it boil up until a stranger pisses me off. I blow up at dumb/rude strageners alllll the time.

I get to go for a manicure maybe every other week if I'm lucky.  I use that time to destress.  Last time all I heard was "when are you going to have another one, you know Mj needs a sibling.  It's not good for him to be an only child."   I'm not even safe from my grandfather who declared that I need to hurry up and have #2, although he's pushing more because he's 80 so I can excuse him.
