What candy do you give Trick-o-Treaters who come to your house? I feel guilty after the post yesterday, but we already got everything from Costco....fun size chocolates (kit kat, snickers, almond joy, pb cups, etc) and the non-chocolate mix bag (nerds, twizzlers, gobstoppers
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items? I think it is great, but I'm a sucker for giving away sugary treats.
We get like 10 trick or treaters, max. We are on a small side street and I think a lot of people drive to the nicer neighborhoods to go trick or treating (I would!) So, I usually get one bag of the candy that I like to eat--usually the Reeses mix!
What candy do you give Trick-o-Treaters who come to your house? Right now, we have individual bags of pretzels (yes, I like to give non-sugary options) and a big bag of different flavored twizzlers. I am debating whether to get something chocolate-y.
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items? As seen above, I am a fan!

How much candy do you give to each kid....one piece, two, a handful? We just moved to a different neighborhood with lots of kids, so I am not sure how many we are going to get and thus how much to give out!
Also, how many trick or treaters do you anticipate getting? See above! I have no idea!
What candy do you give Trick-o-Treaters who come to your house?
We usually get full sized candy bars/m&ms from costco.
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items?
I feel like the kids would be disappointed and I would feel weird giving it out but I totally think they are a good idea and would prefer them for my child when we take her.

How much candy do you give to each kid....one piece, two, a handful?
Since we give full candy bars, only 1 unless its the end of the night
Also, how many trick or treaters do you anticipate getting?
maybe 30 or so. Not many people decorate for halloween in our neighborhood and it's a little bit of an older people community, not as many families with kids to bring around.
We leave out a big bowl of candy.
I think its 100% a time to do candy.
At my sisters if I am handing out I either give one piece or let them pick.
I would ask neighbors

What candy do you give Trick-o-Treaters who come to your house? We have gotten 3-4 trick-or-treaters in the 5 yrs we have lived here. So we but one bag of whatever DH likes and give those out.
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items? While I understand why people do this I feel like it is up to parents of children to limit candy, so we give out the good stuff.
How much candy do you give to each kid....one piece, two, a handful? 1 or 2
Also, how many trick or treaters do you anticipate getting? None, we won't be here and the few who normally stop by know that already, so they won't come by.

Last year we spent Halloween at my Grandparent's house so that they could take DD trick o treating. So, we didn't hand out any candy.
This year we are handing out Halloween themed pencils and bubbles in eyeball containers.
This will be our first year in this apartment complex handing out anything, so I'm sure how many kids there will be.
What candy do you give Trick-o-Treaters who come to your house?
We usually get a big mixed bag.
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items?
We usually do candy, but I'm all for a healthy option

How much candy do you give to each kid....one piece, two, a handful?
Usually just one piece unless it's the end of the night
Also, how many trick or treaters do you anticipate getting?
Last year we had about 60, but there are tons of new houses in our area, so I'm thinking we'll have more than that this year.
What candy do you give Trick-o-Treaters who come to your house? I read the link posted yesterday about chocolate and child slave labor and decided to skip the chocolate. We'll be giving out YummyEarth Lollipops this year.
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items? The lollipops are organic, though still wouldn't classify them as healthy. My little guys would be happy to get playdough or other things mentioned, but most of the trick or treaters we get here are a little older and I don't think they'd be a fan. I know I tossed the healthy snacks that I got as a kid.
How much candy do you give to each kid....one piece, two, a handful? Early on I give two pieces, toward the end of the night I give a handful.
Also, how many trick or treaters do you anticipate getting? Maybe 30-40.
What candy do you give Trick-o-Treaters who come to your house? If it's candy we give, it's the mixed bag from Costco (m&m's, snickers, reeses, etc)
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items? I think it depends on the item - as a kid I loved playdough and since we saw single serving sizes of playdough at costco we got those. They were very popular with our trick-or-treaters last year

How much candy do you give to each kid....one piece, two, a handful? One - see next question for the reason why!
Also, how many trick or treaters do you anticipate getting? Last halloween we got 160 pieces of playdough and a 90 piece bag of candy as back up. We went through all the playdough and about half the bag of candy. The year before we went through 2 large bags of candy, plus some of the stash that my daughter had gotten trick-or-treating and had to put up a sign saying that we were out of candy. I'm hoping for less this year since it's a weeknight, but I still think we'll get over a hundred... We bought 3 things of playdough this year just in case...
this is our first year here and I hear no one goes door to door in the hills where we live I'll still pick up some mini play doh and a variety pack of candy.
Back in Texas, I was the AWESOME PLAY DOH lady as the kids yelled running up and down my lawn!
I'd easily go through 120 cans of doh I did creepy candy on the side one year for older kids (thinks gummy brains, dirty band aids, fingers and goo filled bugs) and that was a super hit too.
I'm sad to no longer be the most awesome house in the hood :
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items? Eh, it's Halloween...it's all about the candy!
How much candy do you give to each kid....one piece, two, a handful? We don't get that many kids, so I usually give a handful.
Also, how many trick or treaters do you anticipate getting? Not too many...maybe 20? I try to turn out the light before the SCU "kids" start coming by.
What candy do you give Trick-o-Treaters who come to your house?
We bought two bags of candy from Costco (the chocolate bag, and the non-chocolate bag)
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items?
I'm not opposed to them, but we like passing out the sugary stuff.
How much candy do you give to each kid....one piece, two, a handful?
We usually give a couple of pieces to each kid. If the kids are polite/cute/etc. I'll usually let them select a couple of pieces of their choice. (The little kids get to grab it themselves, but the bigger kids can tell me what they like because I find they're more apt to grab a huge handful).
Also, how many trick or treaters do you anticipate getting? Last year I think we had maybe 30 or 40. Not sure what we'll get this year, since last year the Giants were playing in the World Series (and I wouldn't doubt some parents didn't want to take the kids out and miss the game -- although we were watching it, and giving updates to parents who could hear it through our front door and asked for the score).

What candy do you give Trick-o-Treaters who come to your house?
I'm totally making something this year. Maybe a twist on the candy corn popcorn balls I made last year (with non-slave-labor candy, obviously.)
Thoughts on healthier candies/snacks or non-edible items?
meh. if it's clever or fun, sure!
How much candy do you give to each kid....one piece, two, a handful?
depends on the kid and the time of night
Also, how many trick or treaters do you anticipate getting?
