Toddler formula?

Have any of you talked to your docs about this stuff - it's supposed to be a more nutricious substitute for cow's milk at 1 year plus.  DS is on BM now, but is 3rd percentile.  I'm wondering if when we switch to cow's milk it would make sense to fortify it with this formula like we fortified my BM before he learned to nurse.  Anyone using this stuff?

I'm wondering about it too. One of my little guys isn't even on the preemie growth chart, so I've been wondering if he'll need to stay on formula past his 12 mo adjusted birthday, move to toddler formula, or what. Our next pediatrician appointment is in 3 weeks & I was planning on asking then.

 In the mean time, I'm interested to see what the other responses are.

DS was not a preemie, but was small 6lb 5 oz at birth.  He was in the 10th percentile at his 12 month appointment, and the pedi kept him on formula until the 15 month.  We used the toddler formula.  It wasn't much different than the infant formula and had more calcium.  Worth asking the pedi about.
