I have a 7 week old, an 18 month old, and an 11 1/2 year old "pre-teen" (as she reminds me). My husband & I both work full time. I just came back to work on Monday.
I'm feeling stressed about how on earth I'm going to find time to work out. After we get home and do dinner and clean up and spend some quality time, it's then bathtime and bedtime. I feel guilty if I'm not 'bonding' with them after work bc I'm been gone all day. And I don't think working out at night with be good bc I already have an awful time getting to sleep.
When do you find time? It really feels like my day is so crammed I don't know how I"m going to fit it in.
Also, I was taking the two younger ones for walks. It's getting colder and darker earlier. How cold do you think is to cold to take them for walks outside?
Re: Are you able to fit in time to work out?
Honestly I didn't even consider it for myself until I weaned because I know for me working out = dramatic drop in supply.
At 7 weeks I needed sleep more than working out.
Once the baby STTN and I'd weaned I worked out for exactly 30 minutes in my living room (Jillian Michaels 30 day shred) at 5 am so I could be finished, showered and ready before either of the kids woke up.
It sucked but not fitting into any of my clothes and having a horrible self esteem sucked worse so I made it happen daily at first and then 3 days a week.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
I work very part time, and I have a difficult time finding time to work out. I cant imagine finding the time on top of a full time job, personally.
What I used to do when I worked full time was walk the stairs at lunch. We had 9 floors, so I'd start at the bottom and go all the way to the top. If I had to go to someone else's office to drop something off, I'd find any excuse to take the stairs/the long way to where I was going. By eating healthy and doing that, I lost 20lbs.
If your life/schedule is too hectic to commit to a workout regime, don't add any more stress to your life. Sneak in exercise when you find time, and run around with the kids outside when you have time on the weekends.
I either run with the 2 in the jogging stroller during the evening when dh is with dss at football or I run alone when dh is home after dinner. My long runs take about 45 minutes and my short runs around 20 minutes, so it's not an evening buster.
I also belong to a gym that has childcare, so we will drop them off, do a workout.
