Constantine?

What could Constantine possibly be shortened to? I love the name (for a boy) but wonder if it's too "different" still.

Stan or Con/Conny are the only thing caming to mind. I personally like the name, but I'd never be brave enough to use it, and my list is definitely not mainstream.

Connie would be my first thought. Maybe Stan but that would be a stretch.

I disagree. I think Stan would be a pretty appropriate nickname.

I knew a kid in high school with this name and he almost always went by his full name, sometimes Cons

I went to school with a Constantinos who went by the nickname Gus.  I have no clue where they got that nn from.

My initial thought is it's a girls name w/ a nn Connie.  The only male Constantine I've heard of is the American Idol contestant and he didn't use a nn.  I'm not fond of the nn Stan-it sounds very old man to me.

As a Constance who goes by Connie, I would say nn should not be Connie or Con because to me those are a girls name. The only other Constance/Connies I've known have all been girls.

I like Stan, Cos, Cosmo, Tino, Dean, Costa, or Gus.

I can't explain why Gus for Constantine, but I know it's not uncommon in the Greek-American community. 

The Russian nickname for Konstantin/Constantine is Kostya (pr. like Coast-ya).
