So our LO will be here within the next few weeks and it dawned on me tonight that DH and I have not decided on whether we are going to name him Max or Maxwell. We love just Max but think Maxwell is more professional sounding when he gets older. It will also give him the choice of what he wants to be called. I say this because my given name is Vickie. Not Victoria. It would have been nice to be have the choice of what to be called on a professional level because my name is more of a nn. Whereas, my husband goes by his nn but he has a full name he can use in professional settings. Sorry if that made no sense but hopefully it did.
So what do you think? Should we just stick with Max because that's what we're going to call him or should we going with Maxwell?

Re: Max or Maxwell?
I know at least 3 grown men named straight-up Max. I think it sounds complete on its own, and I like that it's short and sweet.
ETA: How many syllables is your last name? I would probably make the final call based on how the rhythm of the full name works with a one- versus two-syllable first name.
Our last name is Vaughn. Maxwell Vaughn sounds really good but Max Vaughn demands attention. That's why we love it so much.
Thanks ladies! I appreciate all the votes. You have really helped us make a decision.
