cocoa butter.....

so anyone else hate the smell of cocoa butter? i bought it early on and when i was having m/s i almost barfed rubbing it on- so i put it away -

Then i just pulled it out the other day- and STILL the smell is horrid!

and I know stretch marks are mostly heredity- BUT it just makes me feel better mentally if im putting on some type of lotion- anyone have other suggestions???

i've seen Bio Oil in CVS- anything else out there that claims to help prevent stretch marks???

Re: cocoa butter.....

  • I use Mamma Mio - I really like how it smells. I also use Tummy Honey and lik it a lot, but it is a LOT greasier and I can only use it at night. (and yes, it Is true that stretch marks are mostly genetic...all you can do is try to avoid getting too big, too fast, but I slathered up every day with my first pregnancy and didn't get any, so I am scared to not use anything this time)

  • There are a lot of shea butter formulas/creams that do not smell..do you have a bth & body works near you? They have a lot of shea buter products...

I have the Walgreens version of Bio oil too and I put it on at night, it doesnt have a foul smell to me either....

  • My sister gave me a tube of Mustela.  I'd never heard of it before, but she loved it when she was pregnant.  It has a mild flowery smell.

  • I'd just pick any lotion that you like the smell of. The lotion will help keep you from getting too itchy later on (or now, if you're showing already) and like you said, the stretch marks won't be affected. I actually get the sample size lotions when they're on sale at B&BW so I can switch smells if I get sick of one and then I don't have a whole bottle of lotion hanging out.

Also, try baby lotion, if you tend not to get sick of smells you can use baby lotion and think sweet thoughts of rubbing lotion on the baby once they are born blah blah blah. LOL But it really is great at moisturizing but still being light and the scent isn't that offensive!
