Our LO is up 2 to 3 times a night. And I tried to CIO and she gets more upset. I tried pick up put down, again gets ever more upset. So I'm beginning to think it might be time to just not go in there. It terrifies me that she'll get so upset that she'll throw up (which she's done in just the 5 minutes of CIO). But not letting her CIO hasn't been successful either. I know she can go through the night without eating because on the very rare occation that she STTN she goes from 7:30-5:30 without eating just fine. Anyone have success with this, or can think of a better way? I've literally read countless book and even thought I wasn't reading them right and got the sleep training for idiots guide. She's not a great napper either, maybe 2-3 30 minute naps during the entire day. Unless she's home and then she'll sleep for an hour or longer if left in her swing.
Re: Anyone have success with extinction
I agree with the PP. Maybe try upping the solids you feed your LO. I won't do CIO either, and my LO is up every couple of hours all night long. My pedi suggested giving her more solid food as he said that frequent waking is a sign that she needs more.
