Nausea after exercise?

For those of you who are working out, have you dealt with any nausea post- workout? I did a kettlebell workout today (suitable for pregnancy), and I felt great all throughout (definitely could pass the "talk-test"), but 10 minutes later or so after finishing the workout I started to feel nauseous. Anyone else get something like this? I definitely didn't feel like I was working out at my hit-the-wall limit, so I'm not sure what to make of this. ??

Re: Nausea after exercise?

  • I am still going to the gym 5 days a week - I do a TRX class, spin classs, run, etc. I haven't gotten any nausea, my main issue is that I have zero stamina. My running has slowed waaaaaaaaaay down, and I have gone from running a half marathon to doing 2-3 miles before I have to walk. I would guess the nausea was either from being dehydrated or not eating enough beforehand....did you have enough water during the class?

  • I had water all throughout, and it was two hours after breakfast, so I don't think it was a hunger thing either. The crappy part is that it just hasn't gone away since then.
  • I felt ill one day at the end of my workout, but for me it was dehydration and it sounds like you were well hydrated. Perhaps just try to take it a little easier?

  • It could just be the toxins from your body being expelled. I obviously don't know how you eat or how often you workout, but that can make you sick after a more strenuous workout session than your body is used to. If that's the case, its a good thing for you.

  • I've become nauseated after working out before even when I wasn't pregnant. It's usually after a pretty hard workout (the first time I ever took a spinning class, I actually threw up.) Maybe just work out a little less hard next time and see if it helps. Pregnancy heartburn could also be a contributing factor.

  • i guess I'll try to take it even slower then ... which totally sucks because I already feel like my grandmother could work out harder than me! Pregnancy just kicks my ass, it would seem Sad

Right there with ya!  If I walk the dogs for 20 minutes, I have to sit down for at least 10-15 or else I feel like I'm going to pass out - definitely not normal for me!  So frustrating!
