Does any one have good websites for tips on how to begin teaching sign language to your baby. I will most likely order a book or dvd also but wanted to start w/some info from the web. Thanks!
Sorry no resources for you. My MIL knows sign language so she taught me some that I have been using with DD. We do eat, more, milk, out, and dirty (for dirty diaper). We picked these because they will be easy for DD to do and they are useful. She is too young still to sign back to use but I definitely think she is starting to understand when I sign to her. For instance if I know she is hungry and I sign milk so will stop fussing while I make her a bottle.
LO and I took a class at a local parenting/baby store and they recommended https://aslpro.com/ there are videos of the signs/words. the class was great. it is never too early to start!!!! she said babies as early as 6 months can start signing back but usually they sign back much later, but its still important to start early!
This website. I actually *just* went to a baby signing class at my ob/gyn class tonight and this is one of the websites the instructor recommended. She also said it is never too late or too early to teach a baby to sign. She started with her two kids as soon as they came home. Her daughter was able sign back around 7 months.
Re: Sign Language
This is a good website. It has "Top Ten Starters" and a "dictionary", among other useful resources.
