Hey.. I'm not sure if I really count as a 2 under 2... as my Son will turn 2 a month after the new little one is born.. But i thought i'd ask here anyways...
It's kinda a stupid question.. just looking for feedback..
So we already have a boy.. and so we have a blue baby bjourn carrier and our umbrella stroller is blue..
So am i going to be a completely horrible parent for not buying these times new in more general netural colour?
I understand I'm going to get the odd.."Your little boy is so cute," comments.. so i won't be to offended..
We didn't buy the umbrella stroller it was given to us.. and the Bjourn was one of the few items we actually paid for.. so it's not really a waste of money to buy it new.. but i kinda feel the money could be used elsewhere AND it seems kinda wasteful not to re use them just cause they are blue
just wondering if anyone re used "Boyish" items for their daughter?
Re: A boy and than a girl...
We have the same bjorn and used it fine, no one really said anything. PLus I usually had a bow or headband on her (even though I swore I wouldnt
The stroller, who cares. I got my sisters pink infant seat for DD since she was done with it and people still asked what HIS name was. They are stupid
We had a boy, then a girl. When we registered for gifts when I was PG with DS, we registered for all gender-neutral "big ticket" items because we knew that we wanted at least one more baby, and therefore wanted neutral in case #2 was a girl. That said, we do have some "boyish" things that we use for DD. Our umbrella stroller is blue and gray. I do use a few of DS's old clothes that can be gender neutral (a few pants, white onesies, a few zip-up hoodies). I agree with not wanting to be wasteful or spend money unnecessarily.
Some people are funny and even when a baby is wearing a very gender-specific color, they still refer to it as the opposite gender. This happened the other day with DD, who was in all pink, and someone still referred to her as a boy.

My DD had everything in pink and yet people still called her a boy. I would just use the hand me down car seat and stroller ,because it seems like it's inevitable.
We bought new clothes (obviously), a couple of girly blankets and receiving blankets for when we are out and that was it.
The car seat was blue/brown. The strollers are boy colors. None of that mattered to us, personally.
This is us to a T!
Unless you're dressing her in obviously boy clothes, then I don't see what the problem is.
If you put a baby girl in a blue car do people assume she's a boy?
If I put my wallet and spare diapers in a purple messenger bag, should people assume my little guy is a girl because of the bag I'M using?
Your concerns make no sense to me.
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.
