Hi all-
I have not been on here in awhile but was a active board member from 2007-2009. My twins were born via FET after a failed fresh cycle. I hope everyone on here is doing ok!
My question is unrelated to me and just general- a conversation came up at work about this & I was curious. Are there any laws or explicit rules/policies when it comes to sex selection in IVF, assuming there are no medical reasons that would lead to a desire to sex select, or is this purely left up to the invididual providers if they will support a person's decision to pay for the testing, etc & only transfer embryos of a particular sex?
I know so many people on here are very well versed in these topics so I appreciate any links or info!
Re: question about gender selection for those familiar with laws, etc
OK, I was not out to offend in any way so I'm sorry it was clearly taken that way. It was not directed at a particular situation, it was an ethical debate that came up at work & I was curious about what the official stance of REs was on this or if there were any guidelines, and the women on here always have been very well versed in the IF news/research. I will go google or try elsewhere.
