Thanks for the suggestion to try doing more tummy time on the bed for arm strength. Cora tolerates that much better than anything else we have tried. Now if I could just get her to open her hands....but that's another story.
Also, I saw your post on WW and I totally get where you are coming from with people saying "but aren't you just glad she's here" when you have any complaint. Its so frustrating because of course you are glad she's here but having a preemie is HARD and you need to vent too! Can you and your DH have a little party for her birthday? My friend who has a 24 weeker born in December is planning a party for her coming home day since she can't have a big party on her birthday or due date. Maybe that's an option? I would be disappointed too if I were you (we have a March bday and I haven't thought about how we will do it yet since its technically still rsv season here...)

I'm glad that helped! She'll get there. Scarlette can open her hands but it took her awhile. Our entire first month of PT was spent trying to entice her to open her hands! She still doesn't like to, she's been holding her bottle with closed fists until this week.
Yeah thanks for the validation I AM really grateful, all the time so it's hurtful for someone to act as though I'm not on the rare times I'm down about something.
We are going to have her grandparents over we decided, as long as everyone is healthy. And I decided to decorate like it's a big party. That will make me happy and she only turns one once so heck with it! I am thinking of doing a bigger party for her one year NICU graduation date. She came home the first week of April so maybe at the beginning of May. Maybe by then she'll be able to do a smash cake too
Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
