You will do fine! I would ask if someone can come be with you in the surgery suite once your DH goes with the girls. It was such a blessing to have my Mom come and sit with me and give me an update on the babies since DH followed them to the nursery.
You will do great! Try to rest up before then, I know easier said than done!
Oh my...I remember that feeling. I had about 8 hours to mentally prepare for it once they said they would do my section. I've had two sections and both were fantastic! You get to meet your girls in 48 hours. You've waited and waited for this. What a momentous time for you. I can't wait to see pics!!!!

You're going to do great! I am pretty much the biggest wuss ever and the recovery honestly was not as bad as I thought it would be. The first couple days were tough, I'm not going to lie but it did get much better after a few days. Some tips:
Tell your nurses that you want them to wake you up to give you your pain meds around the clock, staying on top of them makes the pain much more manageable.
Have the nurses give you gas medicine and take it even if you don't think you will need it. The gas pain came out of nowhere for me and a lot of times it was worse than the actual incision pain.
Take every.single.pair. of the mesh underwear that you can get your hands on. They are SO much better than regular underwear.
Use your husband. I now say that any mystery we had remaining in our marriage went out the window when I was recovering from my c-section. My husband had to help me go to the bathroom, had to help me shower etc. but it really helped having him help me with all that.
Lastly, take a final belly picture even if you don't feel cute, you will not regret having it. If you can, get a video of the babies moving in your belly, you will want to remember that feeling. Good luck on Friday and keep us posted!

Ditto everything 2shitzus said...especially about the pain and gas meds! No one told me to expect bad gas pain. It was way worse than the incision IMO. I was so nervous like crying in the OR before they started the spinal block but the c section itself turned out to be super easy. Good luck with everything! Can't wait to hear about your girls!
Diagnosis: DOR and MFI-low everything
IVF #1 = triplets! 2 girls and a boy!
Born Sept 29, 2011 at 32w6d due to Pre-e and HELLP syndrome
I delivered because of the same thing! They might put you on magnesium and if they do, you'll be unable to get out of bed for the first 24hrs after delivery (at least this was the case for me). But the delivery went fine and my boys were fine (they were born at 34 weeks, so they needed NICU time, but were healthy for the most part). You are going to do great! Congrats on becoming a MoM with outside babies!
My mom once told me that the one thing all moms share is that they went through a moment of panic when they realized omg - this baby is coming no matter what! Don't worry. Put one foot in front of the other. You'll just do it like millions before you, and it will be fine!
Try to rest and enjoy your last few days before the insanity begins. Don't try to plan the hell out of everything - nothing will go according to plan. I couldn't wait for pics to be taken of me and the boys when we were back in the room - but I was puking my guts out from not handling the epi well, asking my mom and MIL to hold the babies, I couldn't. On the other hand, I had a few sweet moments I couldn't have planned - like night #2, dh crawling into my hospital bed with me and bot babies, cuddling, watching tv. And me making him swear not to make me laugh b/c my c/s incision hurt too much!
My point is, just roll with it. Congratulations early! XOXO
