Progesterone question...

FINALLY got an answer about my b/w today (kinda). My Dr. still didn't call me directly. I had to call 3 times before I got my answer... from my Dr.'s nurse, but they did tell me to fill my prescription for Progesterone and to start taking it next cycle.

My question is, she told me to take it from CD 14-28... from what I have been reading on some other posts on here, I should take it earlier. What would you all suggest I do? Is my Dr. an asshat? I'm starting to have doubts about her and may consider switching to someone else who seems to care more about me.

My last doctor told me the same thing... we actually argued about it.  She said 1CD 4-28 because everyone ovulates on CD 14 .... righhhht.  I switched doctors shortly after that, only using the progesterone Rx once O was confirmed @3dpo (which was nearly 8-9 days after CD 14).  

My new doctor also gave me a Rx for progesterone, but she said take it @3dpo-BFP or AF.  She said not to take it CD 14-28 because I was Oing @CD 20 or later and she thought it would interfere with Oing.

I would call back and tell them you're not Oing until after CD 14 and see what they say.

I am meeting with my OB about this tomorrow, but she mentioned that she will have me use OPKs and start the progesterone when I get a positive. I will know more about what her thoughts are tomorrow. If you want, I can let you know what she says.

Buckeye: Thank you, that helps clear things up. I even sent her my charts for the past 3 months. I need to speak with HER and not her nurse. She said she would look at them and call me back... not a word from her. I clearly don't O on or near CD14 - she would understand that just by glancing.

ktsnshn: That would be wonderful if you could. I would really appreciate it. I like the idea of waiting until you get a + OPK.

If you take it before you O it will likely prevent you from O'ing.  I started taking prometrium (on cd 50 something) to end a cycle and happened to get a +opk the very next day.  Sure enough, even w/ my LH surge I never O'ed. 

I would talk to your doc or consider switching.  GL!
