Bummer! I'm so sorry... I missed a couple of DS's firsts too and it made me so sad. DH missed DS's first steps too (I told him that's what he got for going golfing that day after being at work all week... haha!). At least he repeated it for you later!
And remy's right - prepare for lots and lots of faceplants! DS started walking a week after his first birthday and is still constantly faceplanting now, except now it's b/c he's RUNNING and trips or slips. He's currently sporting a goose egg on his forehead and managed to get a cut on his brow bone after running through the kitchen and wiping out the other evening. Sigh. I'm looking forward to having an immobile baby for a while here soon.
Yep, I did too. I was working a weekend shift and DH told me when I got home. I'm just glad that DH got to see them even though I didn't, DC assured us that they hadn't seem him walk yet either.
That's awesome though!
DD did it at daycare for the first time, and they bursted out with it when I went in to get her even though they had previously decided that they wouldn't tell us - I was sad that I missed it, but daycare was almost as excited as we were so it was hard to be too sad about it.
I hope you've enjoyed your days of sitting, b/c you pretty much won't get to sit down for more than 30 seconds for about 6 months!
I missed Sydneys first crawl, she was home with DH, but we were both home to see her first steps. When we told daycare about it, I am almost sure we got fake enthusiasm because she had already done it there, but I didn't ask because I didn't want to know! That's so awesome that he's walking now. He IS awesome. All of our kids are!!
Re: Aaaand...I missed his first steps
I can only imagine - he's already like lightning on all fours!

Someone's getting a little brother!
Awww... Way to go MC! Sorry you missed it Mama.
I was so happy that Evie had her helmet when she was learning to walk. Unfortunately, it also made her extra brave. We called her Evie-Knievel.
