I've actually never heard of it before. Is it pronounced like Cyrus? (minus the 'us' and add in the 'il')
I don't think I would use it in the end though.
LOL, the post below said cereal, and I was gonna say sorta reminds me of cereal.. But it's SA-Real
My cousin isn't from this country, so I'm sure whatever high school he went to, he was proabably one of the more normal names. He came here to go to college and when you're older, I don't think your name really causes you to get picked on anymore. So there were no "cereal" teasing.
That and the guy is over 6 ft, very huge guy who sorta looks like burt from seasme street. Needless to say he's got A GREAT sense of humor and can defend his own ground.
ETA: not a name option for me, just saw it in post below and wondered thoughts
The only Cyril I have ever met is a world-famous medical examiner who has consulted on pretty much every high profile death/murder in the past 40-50 years. He's older than dirt, covered in liver spots and is allegedly a pretty crooked dude. Bad association.
I kind of like it. I have only met a couple of Cyrils, one of whom was a monk - no surprise, to me it has strong religious associations as a saint's name. I would never think of it as a girl's name at all, but I guess everything is unisex these days.

There was a guy in my high school class named Cyril. I called him Cereal.
And that's pretty much how I feel about that.
The "y" is more like a short "i" or "ee", so it is more like SEER-uhl

I like it decently well -- I've met one guy with this name, and he wore it well.
I think I prefer Cyrus, though.
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
