FET ?

Hi, Sorry I haven't been an active poster lately. With a forced break not much to say but I do try to send Good Lucks and HUGS when needed!

I'm *hoping* I can do my FET in November but it's looking pretty unlikely. How long do you cycle for with a FET? The RN said anywhere between 11-21 days. I'll be taking Estrace and Vivelle patches (no Lupron, etc). Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Geeked

Re: FET ?

  • No advice, just good luck and well wishes for your upcoming cycle!

  • All of my BFN FETs were estrace to PIO and were 3 or 4 weeks from start of estrace to transfer.  It all depended on when my lining was think enough.  This time around I started off with lupron and the whole cycle was about 6 weeks long.
Beautiful Miracle Baby lost at 21 weeks due to pre-term labor and incompetent cervix. FET#1 BFN, FET#2 BFP, early loss. FET#3 BFN. IVF#2 BFFN. FET #4 BFP after removing bilateral hydrosalpinx and 3 months of lupron depot. Sticky Bun is here!! Image and video hosting by TinyPic Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I'm currently in the FET process.  Started Estrace 3x daily this past Saturday, and I go back on the 25th for lining check and also my intralipids treatment.  I'm hoping transfer will be within a week from that point.  This is my first FET so I'm also not too good with it.  But I say the whole process can be as long as 3 weeks..
  • Wishing you lots of luck!  I did BCP and Lupron for mine (starting in mid-Mar), but started E2 patches on 4/1 for a 4/27 5dt.  Link to deets is in my siggie.  FWIW, it felt like it took forever compared to my fresh cycle.  GL!

  • Thanks girls! You're so very helpful! I am not allowed  to get pregnant before 11/30 (3 months from my methotrexate shot) and I'm 99% sure AF will appear on 11/10 so I'm hoping that I cycle long enough so that I won't have the transfer before 11/30. So I basically need at least 20 days of cycling to make this work. Thanks again Geeked

  • I hope you don't mind me posting but I believe my transfer was on day 19. It will depend on what day your embies were frozen. Good luck!

I don't mind you posting at all! They were frozen on day 3 however they are going to be incubated until day 5 and I will transfer the best ones.

Mine were frozen on day 6 I'm pretty sure so I'm not sure how that would change things for you. Also as much as I hate PIO, I felt like it made the difference for my cycle which resulted in my son. It was the only time I had done PIO. I also did estrace as the estrogen support.  Sorry for the unsolicited info. lol

They can extend the period of time you are on estrace to about 3 weeks even if your lining has reached the target thickness if I remember correctly. FET is much much much more flexible for timing than a fresh cycle. There's a minimum amount of time- long enough to get your lining up... But they can absolutely extend beyond that to set up preferred timing. My grandfathers funeral out of town was during FET#1 and we massaged the dates a bit to let me travel.
