silly question re: professional photos

I've been waiting to get some professional photos taken until P can sit up. He sits really well, but still falls backwards and smacks his head sometimes.  I don't want a pillow behind him in the photos. Is there anything the photog can do? Should I bring a mattress for him to sit on? LOL

Re: silly question re: professional photos

  • I just go to walmart (so not real professional IMHO)   but my LO doesn't site perfectly either but we got shots of him sitting on his own and they have all kinds of things to help them sit without a pillow.  DH just stayed close to DS when he was sitting by himself just in case!

  • When we had DD's 6m shoot, I just stayed very close by but out of the frame, so that I could reach an arm out and catch her if I needed to.

  • We brought the Boppy and a sheet/blanket to our Christmas photo shoot last year.  Put the sheet over the Boppy and baby gets the support but you can't tell it's there.

This is what I did at her 6m shoot as well.

  • We've done them at JC Penny and another place - they both had different things to prop baby in/on, between pillows, bouncer type things, etc.  If you want him actually sitting, like PP said, the photographer will work with you so you can "tip" him back up but not be in the shot or their light.
