I gave up on crib naps because of this I've had to hold her mostly, then I can lay her down after she falls asleep. Its the only way to get a decent nap around here !
Yup, today he started. He decided he either wanted to try and stand or chew on his crib. DH just got home and is lowering the crib right now. He's never pulled up anywhere before. Not looking forward to the next few days.

It wasn't just naps for me. For about 3 nights they would stand up in the middle of the night, and then scream because they didn't know how to get down. It passed thank God. Naps are still a little troublesome because they would rather stand up and look at each other and talk than sleep.
Livian Elizabeth and Alayna Marjorie! On their way to 3!
Yes. LO couldn't figure out how to get down. I alternated between helping to soothe him when I could hear that he fell down against the crib rails and started wailing, and letting him try to figure it out himself. I called the pedi's office and the nurse said he'd figure it out on his own. About a week later I had the doctor check him for an ear infection. He was o.k., but still not napping. Finally I had an appointment with a sleep specialist. (I had made the appointment in the beginning, but wasn't able to get in for 3-4 weeks.)
She said that what she tells people is to work with LO on bending the knees. We started a program with DH putting LO down for naps on the weekend. LO was allowed a few "checks" if he was crying hard. And the length of the times for checks got longer.
Also, I used to use just the Magic Seahorse. I bought a Gentle Giraffe white noise plush toy that really seemed to help out.
Good luck!

Yup! with both of my kiddos...it's just a novelty thing and once LO gets used to his new skill it will stop.
